Washington native Randy Hansen is one of the best Jimi Hendrix impersonators out there. Not only does he look like Hendrix, but also emulates his playing style, like playing behind his back. His debut album came out in 1980 through Capitol Records, and he has been performing and touring ever since. He has received recognition and praise from many great artists, including Eddie Van Halen, and is one of the few artists officially recognized by the Hendrix family.
After releasing his debut album, his emphasis continued to be on original releases emulating the Jimi Hendrix style of composition, along with compositions by Hendrix himself. He even played in a band for a while that included the original Jimi Hendrix Experience drummer, Mitch Mitchell. Although touring much throughout Europe in the 1990s and 2000s, Hansen is focusing more on the northwest as of late. He has three self-released CDs: ‘Old Dogs New Tricks’, ‘Good Intentions’, and ‘Tower of Love’.
